At the time of writing this the Vista V3 is $999. Which put it's in the upper echelon of strollers. But is this price tag worth it? Or are you simply paying for the name and reputation?
With more stroller options than ever, thinking through a purchase this size makes a lot of sense. Just like with buying a car, a higher price tag could mean a more reliable car with more features, or it could mean a waste of money.
But the Vista has had a reputation for reliability similar to Toyota. It can go more miles than you think and keep on going. If history tells us anything your Vista stroller will easily last you 10+ years. Which, unless you are really spacing out your pregnancies, is more than enough of a lifetime for a double stroller. Which is another thing; not every stroller can handle multiple kids. Most strollers can only fit one child on at a time. The Vista does two and it does it well. One of the smoothest strollers you will push this size it makes having two 30lb toddlers on board seem not so heavy.
But can a cheaper stroller do the same thing? Sort of. Let me explain. Are there dupes of the Vista? Yes. But most of the time you dupe something that works well already. Some of the lower price options have succeeded in looking similar on paper, but in practicality are underwhelming. Can you buy any ice cream brand at the supermarket? Sure. Will it taste as good as Ben & Jerry's? Probably not. If you are going to eat the calories you at least want them to be delicious.
And that is the same with strollers. If you are going to get one you want it to be safe and reliable, even if it costs a little more than other options.
