Can You Use a Car Seat From One Brand on Another Brand's Stroller?
Yes, as long as the adapter or stroller maker lists your exact seat: buy the UPPAbaby Vista and Cruz adapter ($49.99) if you pair a Nuna PIPA RX, PIPA Aire RX or PIPA urbn with a Vista V3, Cruz V3 or Kona. Buy Nuna's own Vista and Cruz adapter ($75.00) if you have a PIPA Aire and a 2015 or later Vista or Cruz, including the V3. If your seat is not named on a list, treat it as a no until we check it for you.
Who each route is not for
- UPPAbaby Vista & Cruz adapter ($49.99): not for the PIPA Aire, because UPPAbaby's list names the PIPA Aire RX and not the plain Aire. It does not fit a Vista made before 2015, and it does not list Maxi-Cosi's Peri 180 or Ambra.
- Nuna adapter for Vista & Cruz ($75.00): it costs $25.01 more, and Nuna's list does not include the Kona.
- Minu V3 adapter for Nuna, Maxi-Cosi and Cybex ($69.99): it costs $30.00 more than the Minu V3 adapter for UPPAbaby's own seats, and UPPAbaby lists it for the Minu V3 only (the Minu and Minu V2 take a different adapter).
- Staying in one brand (a Nuna stroller with a PIPA, or a Vista V3 or Cruz V3 with a Mesa V3 or Aria) usually means nothing extra to buy, but it ties you to that brand's seats. None of the Nuna stroller listings we carry names another brand's seat.
- Veer adapters: Veer says its Cruiser adapters are certified for Veer Cruisers only, and Veer's Nuna list for the &Roll, &Jog, Cruiser and Cruiser XL adapters leaves out the PIPA urbn and the plain PIPA Aire.

No adapter: the stroller maker says the seat attaches directly. Included: the stroller comes with what the seat needs. Not listed: no adapter we sell names this seat on this stroller. Ask us: an adapter exists, but its list does not clearly name your exact seat or stroller generation, so we check before you order.

What mixing brands actually costs
The adapter is the small part of the bill. On a Vista V3, putting a PIPA RX on the stroller costs $250.00 more than the same-brand Mesa V3 setup, and $200.01 of that is the difference between the two seats. Mix brands when you want a particular seat, not to save money.

Does Nuna have a bassinet attachment?
Yes. We sell three, and Nuna lists each one for specific Nuna strollers, so match the bassinet to the stroller you have.

We have not found a Nuna listing that puts a Nuna bassinet on another brand's stroller, so we do not recommend it.
Seats that no cross-brand adapter we sell lists
- Maxi-Cosi Peri 180 and Ambra: not on any UPPAbaby, Nuna, Bumbleride, Veer or Silver Cross list we carry. Maxi-Cosi lists the Peri 180 for its own strollers, including the Tana 360 and Tayla Max.
- UPPAbaby seats on Nuna strollers, and Nuna bassinets on another brand's stroller: not listed by either maker.
What carried over between generations
- Vista and Cruz: one UPPAbaby adapter covers 2015 to 2019 Vista and Cruz, V2, V3 and the Kona, per UPPAbaby. Nuna's version names 2015 and later Vista and Cruz models through the V3, but not the Kona.
- Cruz V2 upper adapters are listed by UPPAbaby for the Cruz V2 and the Kona. Our listing says they do not fit any Vista.
- Minu V3 takes different adapters from the Minu and Minu V2. It has its own pair, one for Nuna, Maxi-Cosi and Cybex seats and one for Aria and Mesa.
- MIXX Next ships with its ring adapter, so a PIPA seat goes straight on.
- Bumbleride Indie and Speed: the adapter listing on our store names 2019 to 2024 models, while Bumbleride's own page covers 2016 and later frames (2016 to 2023 frames need two hot shoes, per Bumbleride). The current Indie and Speed listings we carry name that same adapter (MNCL-28).
Before you order an adapter
- Find your stroller's exact model and year. The Vista adapters we sell do not fit Vista models made before 2015.
- Find your car seat's exact model name. "PIPA Aire" and "PIPA Aire RX" sit on different lists.
- On a Vista set up for two, choose upper or lower. They are separate adapters.
- Use an adapter only with the seats and strollers its maker lists, and follow both manuals when you attach the seat. If your combination is not listed, ask us before you order.
Mixing brands: quick answers
Can I put a Nuna PIPA car seat on an UPPAbaby Vista V3?
Yes. UPPAbaby's Vista and Cruz adapter ($49.99 at SugarBabies) lists the PIPA RX, PIPA Aire RX and PIPA urbn. Nuna's own adapter for the Vista and Cruz ($75.00) fits any PIPA series seat, which is the route for a PIPA Aire.
Does the Nuna PIPA fit the UPPAbaby Minu V3?
Yes, with the Minu V3 adapter for Maxi-Cosi, Nuna and Cybex seats ($69.99). UPPAbaby's list for it names the PIPA RX, PIPA Aire RX, PIPA Aire and PIPA urbn. UPPAbaby also says to recline the Minu V3 seat fully before attaching a car seat.
Does Nuna have a bassinet attachment?
Yes. We sell three Nuna bassinets, each with a stand: the MIXX Next Bassinet for the MIXX series, the SWIV and TRIV Series Bassinet for TRIV series strollers, and the DEMI Next Bassinet, which connects to the DEMI next without an adapter. The MIXX Next bassinet is $500.00, the SWIV and TRIV bassinet is $500.00 and the DEMI Next bassinet is $500.00.
Can I put an UPPAbaby Mesa V3 on a Nuna stroller?
Not as far as the makers say. None of the Nuna stroller listings we carry names a seat from another brand, and we do not sell an adapter for it. Pair a Nuna stroller with a Nuna PIPA seat instead.
Do I need an adapter to put a Mesa V3 or Aria on a Vista V3 or Cruz V3?
No. UPPAbaby says the Mesa, the Aria and the Bassinet attach directly to the Vista V3 and Cruz V3. The Minu V3, Minu Duo and Ridge need adapters.
Can I use a Maxi-Cosi Peri 180 on an UPPAbaby or Nuna stroller?
None of the cross-brand adapters we sell names the Peri 180 or the Ambra. Maxi-Cosi lists the Peri 180 for its own strollers, including the Tana 360 and Tayla Max.
